Why is sustainability reporting key for SMEs?
Currently, SMEs are not obligated to report on their ESG from the EU Green Deal (EU Taxonomy). The reality shows that the ESG reporting requirements impact SME’s stakeholders (investors, banks, and customers), who are already dropping these requirements to SMEs. By 2026, listed small and medium enterprises (LSMEs) will be required to start with sustainability reporting. SMEs will have a separate and simplified reporting standard to lower their threshold to begin reporting. Thus, the next 2 years are an excellent opportunity to learn more about the SME's sustainability reporting.
Reporting can bring your company regulatory compliance and cost savings, as well as market differentiation, innovation opportunities, a more resilient supply chain, competitive advantage, and access to capital, to mention a few. In the upcoming years, more than 50,000 companies will be required to comply with the Corporative Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

Though 2026 may feel far away, the sooner your company begins planning to meet CSRD requirements, the easier time you’ll have when CSRD goes into effect. Taking time to prepare your calculations and reporting will keep you ahead of the curve when new regulations will be obligatory.
Organisational sustainability transformation
SUSTAINABILITY ASSESSMENT
We use different methods and tools to assess the current level of company sustainability. We also look at data the company collects to plan further actions, such as deciding on a sustainable strategy and performing materiality assessments. We categorise stakeholders to understand their roles in company ESG subjects. Finally, we validate the company's materiality matrix, update the materiality assessment with the company's available data, and propose one that needs to be collected in the future.
SUSTAINABILITY REPORTING
We specialise in sustainability reporting for VSMEs. We guide companies through the reporting process and advise them on the reporting elements unique to their business model, size, future growth, number of stakeholders, and industry.
We can prepare a sustainability report in collaboration with the company if necessary.

TRAINING
We offer educational programs through workshops, webinars, multi-session courses, and specialised masterclasses covering various organisational sustainability transformation topics, such as CSRD implications for SMEs, GHG reporting, sustainable strategy development, the use of AI in reporting, and sustainability reporting for SMEs. Training can be delivered for individual organisations or publicly. For example, see our Training site for the themes we cover.
