How did it start?
The spark to establish sustainable consultancy in 2022 with a grant application investigating transformational business models. Businesses were ready to change their current material use and production trajectories due to recent disturbing events and supply chain disruptions, but the challenge was HOW?
With this mission, the company name was inspired by Philips Design’s four future scenarios. One of them was Habitania. Habitania captures the creation of sustainable futures for humanity and habitats, enabling an acceptable standard of living and protecting biodiversity while reinventing harmful practices, implementing innovative technologies, mindful design, and ecosystem business collaborations.

​Our commitment is to support SMEs in scaling up their core business to become competitive in the market and providing socially and environmentally sustainable customer-centred products and services by assessing, co-creating, and transforming traditional business models. We identify circular opportunities and design circular business models that generate business value and positively impact society and the environment.
We help organisations and individuals with their communication of sustainability practices as part of a transition from a linear economy by assessing, co-creating, implementing sustainable practices, and offering educational programs.

Helena Sustar, PhD
I build an environmentally conscious society and help businesses transition to sustainability. To pursue this devotion, I founded Habitania Institute - a sustainability consultancy specialising in assisting SMEs in their sustainability transition. My experiences in sustainable businesses help organisations achieve their sustainability transformation.
Organisational Development
Ulrike Zacharias, M.Sc.
I am a freelancer in organisational development and am completing an MSc in behavioural and organisational psychology. I am an experienced lecturer on systemic organisational consulting, people, organisation and culture and applied circularity methods. I will be collaborating with Habitania Institute on co-hosting webinars and participating in forthcoming trainings.

As a linguist in business communication, I am currently training in ESG and sustainability management. I provide multilingual training and consulting to ensure sustainability initiatives across diverse markets and cultures. With expertise in translating policies and navigating international regulations, I help organisations ensure compliance, identify opportunities, and engage stakeholders.
